Our Method

3-Minute Miracles are short video clips of simple, easy-to-use, natural movements. The videos will give you the tools to use movements anywhere, anytime. Through our guided videos and courses, you’ll learn to move in new ways that allow you to restore mobility, improve postural alignment, reduce pain, and better prevent injuries. As you enliven your body and mind, you may also stabilize your emotions for a better quality of life.

The Feldenkrais Method®

3-Minute Miracles build upon the pioneering work of Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais (1904-1984), founder of the Feldenkrais Method, and Senior Feldenkrais Instructor Ruthy Alon, PhD. Dr. Feldenkrais was a physicist who combined his extensive knowledge of physics and mechanics with the study of neurology, anatomy, biology and psychology. A pioneer in neuroplasticity, his revolutionary discoveries about the relationship between bodily movement and how we think, feel and learn have been scientifically validated.

The Feldenkrais® Method is an approach to health and learning that uses early developmental movement sequences recognized by the nervous system to help individuals move past injuries and their habitual neuromuscular patterns and rigidities in a unique manner. Learning to focus the mind and cultivate the kinesthetic sense during these innovative movement tasks benefits anyone experiencing chronic or acute pain whether of the back, neck, shoulders, hips, knees or feet. It also helps healthy individuals who wish to increase their range of motion, to improve their flexibility and stability, or to rediscover – at any age – their inborn capacity for efficient movement. Engaging in these movement sequences expands awareness of how one thinks, senses, feels and moves, which opens the door naturally to personal improvement and development. Current research has shown the motor neurons impact not only our structure, but also the emotions and every organ in our body.

Many have sought out this method, whether due to a physical illness or injury or simply wanting to retain or regain ability to move without strain or discomfort. Artists and writers often come to stimulate their creativity or reduce their tension to continue their art form. Those involved in athletic ventures who wish to expand their abilities use this approach to understand and refine their form and execution. Those wishing to include the body in their psychotherapeutic journey use the method to enhance their experience of themselves. The method is diverse in scope and has many applications.

This work has been taught around the world in private settings, clinics, schools and hospitals. It’s even been developed for work with animals.

  3-Minute Miracles also builds upon the work of Ruthy Alon, Ph.D. Through the Foundation for Movement Intelligence™, Dr. Alon developed various programs deeply rooted in the work of Moshe Feldenkrais: Bones for Life, Walk for Life, Chairs, Mindful Eating, and Solutions.

These programs expand the range of flexibility, alignment, strength and balance and show how to integrate these elements into your daily life with optimal efficiency and efficacy. They help overcome physical dysfunctions by strengthening your sensory-motor awareness. This unique method of somatic learning is an invaluable tool in reconnecting us with our innate compass and are restorative through gentle, progressive, self-reliant and self-help strategies.

Dr. Alon demonstrated the value of biological optimism. The processes “Awaken your Movement Intelligence, your internal compass, to navigate in optimal coordination” she wrote in her book. Build your inner resources.

Dr. Alon studied with Dr. Feldenkrais for 10 years prior to being invited to be a part of his first training program. She was Educational Director of over 40 Feldenkrais Training programs worldwide prior to developing Bones for Life (BFL), her foundational program to address the growing issue of osteoporosis.

In her BFL course one semester at a Tel Aviv University, every participant increased their bone density as measured on their wrist. Dr. Alon went on to develop Walk for Life using trekking poles in a particular manner to support the natural spiral of movement in every step. She created three other programs, each offering a different focus and progressive strategies for optimal living.

Dr. Alon is the author of Mindful Spontaneity, which has been translated into seven languages and that was awarded the book of the year prize for natural healing by the Jungian Society in Italy. She is also the creator of the video “Movement Nature Meant” as well as numerous instructional videos. Her Movement Intelligence programs are taught worldwide by her Movement Intelligence Trainers.

Utilizing these approaches, 3-Minute Miracles support individuals experiencing chronic or acute pain of the back, neck, shoulders, hips, legs, knees or feet. It also helps healthy individuals move with greater flexibility and sturdiness, helping to prevent injuries. Through individual or group sessions, it has proven useful in resolving neurological, orthopedic and stress-related conditions as well as chronic pain.
